Even as someone I consider more outspoken, I still find myself subconsiously choosing the things to talk about and avoid talking about depending on whom I'm with. I know the specific things that turn off each individual I know. I also know the things they want to hear. It's frustrating in way. You can only show peices of yourself to others, but not the whole self. Only I really know me. This is why I'm more comfortable showing my writing with strangers and not people I know. Strangers don't have certain expectations of who they think I am (Or who I "should" be).
